This polyurethane foam sword has a fiberglass core rod and is latex-free. The hilt and guard are hard-wearing plastic. Stylized animals form ornate knotwork on the bronze-toned crossguard and pommel. The pommel has a lobed shape with a gentle angle towards the grip. The grip of the handle looks like leather. The blade has a double fuller. This hand painted LARP sword is also wonderful for cosplay conventions or theater productions.
History
This design commemorates the Battle of Hafrsfjord in 872 when Harald Hårfagre (Harald Fairhead) united Norway into one kingdom.
There is a monument to King Harald by Hafrsfjord, called Sverd I Fjell (Swords in rock) consisting of three giant swords in the ground. The three
symbolize peace, unity and freedom. The center sword is based on King Haralds sword.
